Research Interests

I am an anthropologist interested in the intersection between cultural diversity and health inequality. Originally conducting doctoral fieldwork in New Zealand, Canada and Australia amongst indigenous groups subjected to colonialism, I am now looking more broadly at the relationship between social marginality and health inequality. I am interested in the use of new digital technologies and interactive digital media platforms - both in public services and in global phenomena such as twitter and Facebook - as pathways to a positive and interactive engagement with public services by facilitating listening and responsiveness, and at the same time generating data for research.
