Biography

I have worked in IT systems and project management since 1995, firstly for the UK's first online share trading platform when the WWW grew from an academic experiment to worldwide prominence, then for the European Bioinformatics Institute during the completion of the Human Genome Project, and then for the University of Cambridge during the era of grid computing and the birth of the cloud.

I have built sensor networks for air quality monitoring, data management systems for radiotherapy treatment of cancer and studied how to measure data quality.

Research interests

I now manage the University's partnership with Aviva which is centred on data science, and as digital sector coordinator for the Strategic Partnerships Office, provide oversight, coordination and advice for the University's key industry partnerships across the digital sector.
