Biography

Alexia Cardona is an experienced Training Lead in the fields of Data Science, Data Management and Bioinformatics. She leads training in Data Science and Data Management at the University of Cambridge’s Bioinformatics Training Programme. She is also the Course Organiser for the NST Part II BBS Bioinformatics course and teaches in other undergraduate courses. Her role involves the management of the different aspects of training including design, development, coordination and teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate training in Bioinformatics and Data Science. She is a leader in the ELIXIR international community, where together with the other leaders and partners drives the establishment of high-quality training for the Life Science Researchers. Dr Cardona is an advocate of participation in Communities of Practice and of women in leading and computational sec-tors which are currently underrepresented.

The Cambridge Centre for Data-Driven Discovery (C2D3) brings together researchers and expertise from across the academic departments and industry to drive research into the analysis, understanding and use of data science and AI. C2D3 is an Interdisciplinary Research Centre at the University of Cambridge.
